When Lorenzo Musetti is playing in Athens: his record with Stan Wawrinka

Lorenzo Musetti has a dream: to qualify for the ATP Finals in Turin. To do so, he must overcome Felix Auger-Aliassime, currently eighth in the Race. To do so, given his rival’s forfeit (he has withdrawn from the Metz tournament), the Italian must win the Athens ATP 250. Only by lifting the tournament trophy would the azure be certain to qualify for the ATP Finals not as the first reserve but as one of the magnificent eight.
Number 2 seed on the scoreboard, Lorenzo Musetti will take on veteran Stan Wawrinka in the round of 16 of the Greek tournament. The 40-year-old Swiss, winner of no fewer than three Slam events, beat Botic Van de Zandschulp in three sets in the first round, certifying that he still has the talent needed to play at a high level.
The Swiss will play in the round of 16.
There is only one previous match between the two and it dates back to 2020 when they faced each other at the Internazionali d’Italia in Rome with Lorenzo Musetti winning in two sets (6-0, 7-6 the match partials).
The match between Lorenzo Musetti and Stan Wawrinka is scheduled on Wednesday, Nov. 5, no earlier than 5 p.m. Italian time (6 p.m. local time) on the indoor concrete center court of the OAKA Basketball Arena in Athens.
