Lorenzo Musetti and the special dedication after his first win at the ATP Finals
You never forget your first time. If then the success comes at the end of an epic match, the satisfaction is even greater. Lorenzo Musetti, beating Alex De Minaur, gave himself a’very strong emotion that he dedicated to his second child who is about to arrive: “I want to dedicate it to Leandro who will be the second coming, he will be born soon and I dedicate it to him in advance”.
The Blue, in the post match, highlighted how special this victory was: “It was probably the most exciting match because of how it came. I think also from the already very hard-earned qualification, coming in at the drop of a hat. The fact that we had this crowd, this environment, this atmosphere, is what made it most special. The hug in the pit was special, with family and team and friends. It was nice to share it with them”.
The difficulties to get to the challenge with Alex De Minaur were many, forcing Lorenzo Musetti to make a huge effort, both physically and mentally: “I had to push myself beyond my limit physically”, his explanation in the press conference.
Now standing in Lorenzo Musetti’s way is Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard, undefeated after two days, is definitely the’toughest opponent. However, the Azure dreams of grabbing the semifinals: “I will ask for even more support from this wonderful audience”, his closing remark.
