Pecco Bagnaia doesn’t give up on Ducati, but he has one wish

Pecco Bagnaia has no intention of giving up on Ducati. Sunday in Valencia will bring to a close a nightmarish season for the Piedmontese, who from a candidate for the MotoGP championship title finds himself on track with the risk of also losing fourth place in the standings to Pedro Acosta. So if from his point of view it is inevitable to put the’focus on the last race of the year, much of his concentration is already on 2026.
“This year the negative moments have been more frequent than the positive ones, it is undeniable – said Bagnaia at a press conference in Valencia. “In recent seasons, a third place would have been a negative result for me, which is why I have had such a hard time accepting the reality of these months. Throughout the year, I tried to work as best I could with the team, but I was never able to adapt to the 2025 bike. Which, moreover, had a lot of potential, if we see the results that Marc Marquez“s got.
“I can“t say if this season will allow me to learn something, but I know do I have always given my best to adapt to this year’s Ducati and be competitive – added Bagnaia. I hope this helps me and that, with the new bike, I can have positive feelings as early as Tuesday. Being able to choose only one aspect, I hope in 2026 to find more stability”.
In the meantime, however, it is necessary to race in Valencia. Third world place is still possible, but Marco Bezzecchi only needs 2 points to win it. And in the meantime, there’s also Pedro Acosta pawing. Bagnaia’s goal, then, is to limit the damage: “Already from Friday we will understand what our chances will be to fight at the top. We will give everything to get back there in front, the’only way to end 2025 on a positive note is to battle for the podium in Valencia”.
