The first day of timed practice in Valencia gave good news to Fabio Di Giannantonio, who finished Friday in the Top 10 qualifying, with his Ducati, directly for Saturday’s Q2. The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team rider looks forward to the rest of the weekend with optimism, aware at the same time of the limitations shown during the year in qualifying.

“I am happy, because the main goal on Friday is to get into Q2 and we have achieved it – said the 1998-class centaur -. I was fast throughout the day simulating the race pace as well. Even in the time attack we did a good job. I am not fully satisfied with my lap because I could not make a perfect one, but we were able to be nimbly in Q2”.

“However, we started the weekend well. For tomorrow, we have to focus on qualifying, which throughout the year has been a bit of our kryptonite. It will be important to start at the front, it would be nice to make the front row, we could have fun” explained Di Giannantonio again, who in Valencia wants to get back to the top positions after two weekends without any particular sharpness.

After his second place in the long race at Phillip Island in Australia, in fact, Di Giannantonio finished sixth in the Malaysian Grand Prix (finishing outside the points zone in the Sprint the day before), while in Portimao he finished fifth in Saturday’s race and eighth in Sunday’s.
