For the Gresini Racing team, Saturday in Valencia was two-sided: on the one hand the beautiful victory of Alex Marquez, who anticipated the KTM of Pedro Acosta and the Ducati Desmosedici GP25 of Fabio Di Giannantonio at the finish line, on the other hand the eleventh place of Fermin Aldeguer, who therefore ended the day without adding points to his ranking.

Aldeguer, however, does not take it lying down and commenting on his Sprint Race points the finger at Jack Miller: “We did a good qualifying, then in the race honestly Jack’s maneuver ruined the race for us – said, bluntly, the Spaniard, on the contact that also led to a penalty against the Australian – Without fins we were struggling more on the straight”.

Aldeguer, who after his victory in Indonesia has yet to make it onto the podium, is counting on doing better in Sunday’s long race: “The Top 5 is not out of our reach, although a podium finish would be incredible to close out the season” said the young Gresini Racing team rider, who in his first season in MotoGp has shown more than once that he can compete for the top spots.

In the previous weekend in Valencia, the weekend of Portimao, Aldeguer finished sixth in Saturday’s race and fourth in Sunday’s, although rather far from the third position conquered by Pedro Acosta. The Murcian, born in 2005, has so far achieved three podiums in long MotoGp races: he was third in Le Mans, second in Spielberg and first in Mandalika.
