Conegliano on the run, Scandicci crushed at PalaVerde

After the excitement of the advance between Milan and Novara, which in addition to 2 and a half hours of great agonism returned the record number of spectators for a women’s Serie A match, today, Sunday, November 16, the other six matches valid for the tenth round of the Tigotà Serie A1 Regular Season were played.
The first to take the court were reigning European champions Prosecco Doc A.Carraro Imoco Conegliano and vice-champions Savino Del Bene Scandicci, in the second big match of the day. The top two in the class in the league put on an exciting show in front of the sold-out PalaVerde, packed in its more than 5300 spectators. The exclamation point was put at the end of four sets by the panthers, after a very balanced match in the first three partials. MVP Joanna Wolosz led her teammates to success after winning the first fraction 25-22, suffering the bursting comeback of coach Gaspari’s team in the second set (from 21-17 to 23-25) and winning the head-to-head third set 25-22, which definitely bent the Tuscan women, who then surrendered 25-16 in the fourth set. Four players in double figures for the panthers, with Haak top scorer (22 points, 3 aces and 3 walls), ahead of Sillah (18), Gabi (14) and Chirichella (12), while for Scandicci 14 points from Antropova (well held at the wall, 16% efficiency) and 12 for Skinner. Head of the standings therefore confirmed for coach Santarelli’s girls, at their first breakaway of the season: +7 over the Tuscans, +9 over Milan and +12 over Novara.
Triple 0-3 at Pala BigMat, Pala Bus Company and Palazzetto di Cuneo. And triple 21-25 in favor of Eurotek Laica Uyba on the court of Il Bisonte Firenze, never able to take the score of the match out of the hands of coach Barbolini’s girls. Despite the 16 points of the ever-present Knollema (5 walls), Bustocco side MVP Seki armed to perfection the hands of an irrepressible Parra with 18 points (but also 44% efficiency in reception), Obossa (15) and Torcolacci (10).
The game was a tough one.
The light went out midway through the first set for Wash4Green Monviso Volleyball, which capitulated against a rediscovered Bergamo after the Orobic comeback from 16-12 in the first set to 23-25. From that moment, the revs of coach Parisi’s girls soared, while those of coach Marchiaro’s team came to a halt: 15-25 and 16-25 the other two partials. Great joy in Bergamo’s house for the second win of the season, obtained also thanks to the 14 points of MVP Kipp and the 11 of the very solid central players Manfredini and Meli, mirrored also in the winning walls, 4 each. For the pinellas, only Davyskiba was in double figures.
Fought match but never losing control for Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri, which triumphed without losing a set in the derby against Honda Cuneo Granda Volleyball. Balanced sets (20-25 and double 22-25) but almost always leading the hillbillies, who made the difference at the wall (12 blocks vs. 7) and at the reception (51% efficiency vs. 30%), crucial to get the best out of Dutchwoman Van Aalen, in a night of grace and deservedly MVP. Same points, 17, for the two opposing players Németh and Diop, good performance also by the lateral players at coach Negro’s disposal, Kunzler and Nervini, both with 13.
The team’s performance was also good.
Match full of adrenaline in the first Marche derby of the season between Megabox Ond. Savio Vallefoglia and Cbf Balducci Hr Macerata. The two teams did not spare themselves in the four sets played, as the more than two hours of play showed. In the end, the last smile came from the hosts, with scores 25-21, 25-27, 25-22 and 25-19. In the pre-game, nice ovation for captain Sonia Candi, who was awarded the golden ball of the “Sara Anzanello” award as last season’s best blocker. Coach Lionetti’s orange girls, deprived of Clothier due to an injury in the warm-up, fought on equal terms, but it was the bench at Coach Pistola’s disposal that made the difference: not only Ungureanu (9 points) and Carletti (7), manche Thokbuom and Lazaro responded when called upon, representing a real factor for the green-and-whites. On the side, but not too much, were the 27 points of an unstoppable Bici and Omoruyi’s 17, protected in the second line by a De Bortoli MVP. For Macerata, 16 and 15 points for the usual Decortes and Kokkonen, excellent contribution by Mazzon (10 points with 75%).
