Andrea Scanzi attacks Bruno Vespa again on Carlos Alvarez (and defends Jannik Sinner)

Andrea Scanzi has returned to the controversy of Jannik Sinner’s refusal to play in the Davis Cup by poking Bruno Vespa again in the aftermath of the Azzurro’s victory at the ATP Finals in Turin.
“For days on end in Italy, we have been reading and hearing harsh comments against Sinner, guilty of not contesting what is left of the Davis Cup, after having won it for us two years in a row. Exemplary tennis non-experts, in denigrating a champion who, moreover, would shortly thereafter win a Masters1000 and the ATP Finals in a row, then took as a positive example Alcaraz (or rather Alvarez), one who played Davis very little and never won it”, is Scanzi’s Facebook post.
“Here it is: Alvarez will NOT play Davis. Like Sinner and like 99% of the big boys since Federer. He simply waited for a half-injury to make official what he had already decided for days. The only top ten player in Davis is Zverev, who has called Davis a useless exhibition trophy that he has to play to make his teammates” happy.
“Bruno Vespa, pray tell, do you have anything to say? But shut up, right? What a pity”, concluded the Fatto Quotidiano journalist.
