Juventus, tegola for Luciano Spalletti: Daniele Rugani stops

Juventus loses a pawn just days before resuming activities after the national team break. As confirmed by the Bianconeri’s official website, Daniele Rugani suffered a muscle injury in his right leg, details of which have since been released via an official bulletin.
“Following a muscular problem suffered during Tuesday’s training session – reads the Juventus website in a note issued on Wednesday -, Daniele Rugani underwent radiological examinations at J|medical this morning. The instrumental examinations showed a low-grade injury of the soleus muscle of the right leg”.
Still to be determined, at least for the moment, the recovery time needed to see the Tuscan defender back on the field. Juventus hopes to have Rugani back in time for the Dec. 7 match against Napoli. It is possible, however, that the wait could turn out to be even longer. In any case, it appears almost certain that he will be absent for the Serie A matches against Fiorentina and Cagliari, the Champions League match at the Bodø/Glimt ground and the Coppa Italia against Udinese.
Rugani, who has been under contract with Juventus since 2015 but has also played on loan for Rennes, Cagliari and Ajax since then, has rarely been considered as a starter by the various coaches who have followed over the decade. Yet he is considered a reference point in the locker room, so much so that he recently signed the extension of his contract until 2028.
