Serie A 2025-2026: Torino-Milan, the likely lineups

Reduced by the disappointment in the Coppa Italia against Lazio, a defeat that came a few days after the championship success over the same biancocelesti, Milan is preparing for Monday night’s challenge with Torino with the opportunity to regain enthusiasm and, above all, the top of the standings. In case of victory, in fact, the Rossoneri would return to share the top spot with Napoli, which was able to impose itself on Sunday night over Juventus.

On the Diavolo’s road, however, is Marco Baroni’s team, eager to get back on its feet after a complicated period: the heavy 1-5 home loss against Como and the subsequent fall at Via del Mare with Lecce have left their mark, and the granata will try to take advantage of the home factor, on the strength of a positive record against Milan at the Olimpico Grande Torino (three wins and a draw since 2022 to date), to break the negative streak.

In the Rossoneri’s house, the situation of Christian Pulisic, debilitated by a febrile attack between Saturday and Sunday and in doubt for the match, is holding sway. Massimiliano Allegri, without Santiago Gimenez, is ready to confirm the emergency set-up: attacking pair formed by Rafael Leao and Christopher Nkunku, supported by a five-man midfield with the outstanding offensive talents of Saelemaekers, Loftus-Cheek and Rabiot to complement Luka Modric’s direction.

The Rossoneri’s team is also in a position to confirm the emergency set-up.

On the opposite front, Baroni does not intend to upset his three-man defense composed of Tameze, Maripan and Coco. Up front, next to Che Adams, there is room for Duvan Zapata: the Colombian has already punished Milan on seven occasions in his career and in the two challenges against the Rossoneri in a Toro jersey he always found the way to goal. Giovanni Simeone, not yet at his best, is expected to start from the bench.

Probable lineups

Torino (3-5-2): Israel; Tameze, Maripan, Coco; Pedersen, Anjorin, Asllani, Vlasic, Lazaro; Zapata, Adams. All. Baroni.

Milan (3-5-2): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Loftus-Cheek, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Nkunku, Leao. All. Allegri.
