Roma soccer market: Joshua Zirkzee remains the Giallorossi&#8217s number one target ahead of January, in which the priority was and remains to give Gian Piero Gasperini an important reinforcement for his attack. If, however, on the one hand Manchester United no longer seems willing to bet big on the Dutch center forward, on the other hand Ruben Amorim&#8217s words risk representing an icy shower for the capital club. The Red Devils coach, in fact, while not closing the doors to a transfer of the ex-Bologna striker, has clearly made it clear that the waiting time could increase.

“I doubt anyone will leave Manchester United unless someone comes in first to replace him. If that does not happen, it is difficult for a player to leave – Amorim, who also did not mention Zirkzee by name, said in a press conference -. Right now we are in an emergency, and even at full strength we have too short a roster to cope with all our commitments and any unforeseen events. On our part there is and must always be a great sense of responsibility, with which we must face our difficulties and win each of our games”.

In the hours leading up to Christmas it had seemed that Roma&#8217s deal for Zirkzee was now just a step away. The former Bologna forward seemed ready to arrive on loan with the right of redemption set for a sum between 35 and 40 million euros. Not only that, in case Roma qualifies for the next edition of the Champions League, the agreement stipulates that the redemption becomes mandatory. In addition to him, the Giallorossi club is working to bring Giacomo Raspadori to the capital immediately in January. Also in this case Massara will have to convince Atletico Madrid to sell the player on loan with the right of redemption.

Roma is, however, active also on the outgoing market. Artem Dovbyk could leave the capital to move to the Spanish La Liga, specifically to Sevilla, to wear the Betis jersey. The main knot in the negotiation, however, concerns the economic aspect: the Giallorossi management is not willing to sell off a player bought a year and a half ago for more than 30 million euros.

For this very reason, Betis has made an offer that includes the inclusion of two technical counterparts, in addition to a cash part, to reduce the expense. These are two strikers: the first name is that of Cedric Bakambu, an experienced Congolese striker born in 1991 who has worn the jerseys of prestigious clubs such as Olympique Marseille, Villarreal and Galatasaray; the second profile is Chimy AvilĂ , a 31-year-old Argentine striker, who could represent yet another new face of the Roma team to come.
