Video of the tragic accident that cost the lives of seven Paok Thessaloniki fans

A tragic road accident has claimed the lives of seven Pok fans traveling to France to attend the Europa League match against Lyon scheduled for Thursday. Images circulated online – from a driver traveling on the same road – confirm the dynamics of the impact: in the TimiÈ™ district of Romania, the minibus carrying the Greek supporters encroached on the opposite lane, colliding violently with a truck.
The causes of the accident are still not entirely clear: according to initial reconstructions, it is not ruled out that the driver, a 29-year-old young man, may have been the victim of an illness or a stroke of sleep. What is certain, unfortunately, is the tragic toll: seven victims and three injured, all of whom were transported to the hospital. A total of ten people were traveling on the vehicle.
As a sign of mourning, flags at Toumba Stadium were hoisted at half-mast, while numerous fans gathered to light candles and pay their respects to their missing comrades. Politehnica Timișoara fans also took action to support the families of the victims and the injured, launching solidarity initiatives, including blood collections and financial donations.
The match between Lyon and Paok Thessaloniki will apparently be played regularly: a minute’s silence will be observed before the whistle blows.
