In a note Mediaset has intervened firmly regarding “what has been circulating in recent hours on the web and social platforms”.

“Freedom of expression is not, and never will be, a freedom of defamation, media pillorying or systematic destruction of people– the company created by Silvio Berlusconi knows in a note. What has been circulating in recent hours on the web and social platforms not only has nothing to do with the truth but also nothing to do with journalism, the right to report news or the free manifestation of thought”.

Mediaset has intervened firmly regarding ’what has been circulating in recent hours on the web and social platforms.

And again… “It is the reiteration of extremely serious falsehoods, insinuations and accusations without any basis, lies that damage the reputation of a listed company and, even worse, of so many people, shamefully involving their families as well. We are facing a method that normalizes hatred and verbal violence, fueling a climate of contempt not only for the truth but also for human dignity. This is not informing. This is not denouncing. This is monetizing and profiting through insult”.

“Mediaset firmly rejects lies, falsehoods and insinuations devoid of any foundation and reaffirms its commitment to protect the people, artists, professionals involved and the entire company in every competent forum, opposing all abuses of the media and all forms of hate campaigns masquerading as freedom of speech” the conclusion of the statement.
