Details of the Salomon New Shapers Run 2026, the 10-kilometer non-competitive urban run that will involve 10,000 participants along the streets of Milan on February 21, in conjunction with the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, were presented at an official press conference held at Palazzo Marino. The initiative was created with the support of the City of Milan and the Milan Cortina 2026 Foundation, with the aim of offering the city an open, inclusive and participatory sports experience, fully inspired by Olympic values. The New Shapers Run is configured as an event capable of generating social value and leaving a positive and lasting impact on the community.

“This run – said Martina Riva, Councillor for Sport, Tourism and Youth Policies of the Municipality of Milan – perfectly represents our vision of the Games as an urban and collective experience. It brings the Olympic spirit to the streets of the city, transforming Milan into a space for meeting and sharing and reinforcing the idea of a sport lived every day, accessible and inclusive”.

The route runs through the heart of the city, passing through some of its most iconic places. The start is set in Via Legnano, passing by the Arco della Pace and Corso Sempione, near the Olympic brazier, a symbol of sports values. The race continues to Castello Sforzesco, passing through its monumental areas and historic courtyards, ending at the Arena Civica, Milan’s historic sports facility. A route that becomes the thread of a story dedicated to the “Shapers”: all the people who, in and out of sports, help shape the future. Here it is not the time on the stopwatch that counts, but the energy of a community in motion, united by sharing and Olympic spirit.

“The New Shapers Run,” commented Scott Mellin, Global Chief Brand Officer at Salomon, “expresses our commitment to supporting those who help shape the future of sport. We want to enhance a sense of community, responsibility and positive leadership by recognizing each participant as part of a movement that promotes values that will endure”.
