Michela Moioli’s fourth Olympics has already begun on Monday, along the roads of her homeland. A symbolic but meaningful start for the champion from Bergamo, who took the first steps of an extraordinary career right here. Moioli, the last Italian flag-bearer at the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Games, experienced a special Monday, destined to remain in the memory, on a path that looks straight toward Milan Cortina 2026.

among the most awaited athletes of the entire Italian expedition, Michela is preparing to face her fourth Olympic experience with a clear goal: to return to the top step of the podium eight years after the historic gold medal in PyeongChang 2018. A goal that would further enrich an already prestigious palmarès, four years after she won silver in the mixed team event in Beijing, paired with Omar Visintin, at the end of an exciting and hard-fought competition until the last meter.

Waiting to return to measure herself against the stopwatch and her opponents on the snows of Livigno, the scene of the Olympic snowboard cross trials, Moioli meanwhile wore a different but equally emotionally charged role: that of torchbearer. An intense moment, lived with pride and participation, which represented not only a symbolic passage toward the 2026 Games, but also an ideal embrace between the territory, its people and one of the most representative interpreters of contemporary Italian sport.
