According to Motorsport reports, the British racing stable has decided to end the contract early
McLaren driver: “I’m glad there’s a break. It wasn’t the six months I wanted.”
The Australian is expected to remain with McLaren in 2023, but a return to Alpine cannot be ruled out.
“I am tied to McLaren until the end of next year and I have no plans to leave the sport,” he said.
The four-time world champion could leave Aston Martin and replace Daniel Ricciardo at McLaren.
