Paltrinieri, TV career kicks off

Not even time to wipe off the water embarked in 15′ of strokes, and tears for the historic Olympic victory, and Gregorio Paltrineri is already ready to cross the threshold of the world of entertainment.
His feat has kept several Italians awake and in fact all of Carpi, in celebration for what has been done by the man who has become the most successful citizen in the history of the small town in Emilia Romagna, able to tarnish even the legend of Dorando Pietri known as “the eternal second.”
Political congratulations arrived, from those of Emilia Romagna governor Stefano Bonaccini to those of Simonetta Saliera, president of the Emilia Romagna Regional Legislative Assembly: “It is a source of joy for all of us,” said Saliera, “The passion, commitment and sacrifices that Gregorio has put into his work over the years today reap a great new fruit.
And in less than a month, on September 10, Greg will be in Jesolo, not to swim, but as one of the 5 jurors who will elect Miss Italy 2016.
Agreement evidently already made in advance, but made official after the Olympic gold medal: “Paltrinieri is a fantastic guy: with his daily preparation and his sacrifices he has achieved great results and is an example for many young people. In Jesolo he will be welcomed by our Misses with a lot of sympathy,” commented organizer Patrizia Mirigliani.
Everyone agrees, including perhaps Letizia, Gregorio’s fiancée, who was present in Rio and pampered with jealousy-proof glances and greetings from the newly crowned Olympic champion.
