Vincenzo Onorato and his J/70 Mascalzone Latino Rascals will compete in the 2018 European Championship starting tomorrow. As many as 78 crews on the line, from 17 nations. Racing will start at 12 p.m. tomorrow and will be sailed each day until 2:30 p.m. Saturday, for a maximum overall total of 13 races. The J70 European Championship, first raced in 2014-formerly the Eurocup-has quickly reached respectable attendance figures. In 2016 it was run in Germany and 2017 in the UK. Organizing it this year is the Real Club NĂ¡utico de Vigo, in Spain’s most popular seaside city of Galicia.

Aboard with Vincenzo Onorato, representing the Yacht Club de Monaco, “owners” Paul Goodison, Flavio Favini and Matteo Savelli, joined exceptionally by Francesca Masotto. In the last two editions, Claudia Rossi’s crew has asserted itself and remains one of the boats “to beat.”

In this case, despite the presence of many of the most important names in the Class, the Spanish fleet is undoubtedly the most formidable.
