While Valentino Rossi and Andrea Dovizioso don’t send them off commenting on the maneuvers of the Dutch Gp, it is Marc Marquez who laughs it off, returning to success after Lorenzo’s double triumph between Mugello and Catalunya and stretching in the World Championship standings.

The Honda rider commented with satisfaction on the exciting Assen race: “It was a crazy race, full of adrenaline: these sensations are one of the reasons we do this sport. I expected something similar, but it was nothing compared to reality. We were a wild group, everyone against everyone. We had to attack and defend, attack and defend. It was crazy.”

The overtaking was wasted to the point that any strategy was impossible: “It was not possible to make plans, so I decided to throw myself into the fight. In the last three laps I gave everything, without thinking about the tires or the world championship. Only when I saw that I had more than a second and a half lead before the last lap did I think ‘Okay, we did it, let’s finish this lap’.”

The consequences in the standings are obvious: “It was an important victory and 25 very heavy points.”
