Three-time Formula 1 World Champion comments on the duel that is inflaming the circus.

Three-time Formula 1 World Champion Alain Prost at the In The Fast Lane podcast commented on the duel between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, which is inflaming the circus with two races left in the World Championship. “It would be really great if Max won the World Championship,” Prost admitted, “because he’s a young guy and he really deserves it for what he’s done from the beginning. But what Lewis is doing is also absolutely outstanding.”

“It’s as good as Formula 1 could ask for. It is very difficult to judge the two, what they are doing this year is outstanding for our sport, and I hope they can play it out in Abu Dhabi. Lewis has much more experience, he knows how to win a title, and he also knows how to lose it by one point, as happened to him in McLaren in 2007. On the other hand, Max is making far fewer mistakes than before and is much stronger than before.”

“Verstappen is now at a similar level to Lewis. He also wants to win the first championship because he does not know if he will have a second chance in the future. While instead Hamilton would be the only one to have won eight titles.”
