Fabio Quartararo wants to imitate Valentino Rossi

After the German Grand Prix is over, with Fabio Quartararo stretching in the MotoGp standings, it’s already time to get back on track: the bags have been moved to Assen, with the Cathedral set to host the Dutch Grand Prix.

Yamaha’s Frenchman, who won last year’s MotoGp race, will do everything he can to grant an encore, breaking a taboo that has lasted nearly two decades.

In fact, the last person to win the Queen Class Dutch Grand Prix two years in a row was Valentino Rossi, first with his Yamaha in both 2004 (when he took the podium in the company of Gibernau and Melandri) and 2005 (the Doctor placed first ahead of Melandri and Edwards).

Quartararo, who has finished on the podium in five of his last six MotoGp races, has claimed 26 podiums since 2019, more than any other rider in the top category. The Frenchman has finished on the podium in his two previous appearances at the Dutch TT in MotoGp (he finished third in 2019 and, as mentioned, first in 2021).
