Novak Djokovic reiterated his no to the vaccine, and will not attend the Slam in the U.S.

Novak Djokovic will have to skip the Us Open, the last Slam of the tennis season: the Serbian tennis player at a press conference reiterated his no to the vaccine, and will therefore not be able to embark in August for the United States, which has maintained the vaccination requirement for those who want to enter the country.

Djokovic thus has no choice but to play his only chance for a Slam victory in 2022 right at Wimbledon, which kicks off in a few days: “As of today, taking into account the circumstances, I am not allowed to enter the States. The situation is frustrating but I am not changing my mind. I would like to go there and play there, but at the moment it is not possible. So this is all additional motivation to do well here at Wimbledon. There is not much I can do, so I am giving up for today. It’s up to the U.S. government, and not me.”
