Success in three sets on a comeback
Fabio Fognini gets off to a good start in the Atp Masters 1000 being held in Miami. The Italian tennis player struggles, but in the end he manages to beat Japanese Taro Daniel in a comeback in three sets after almost three hours of play.
A long and difficult match for the Ligurian number 31 on the scoreboard, with Daniel being able to take home the first set 7-6 after a tie-break without history. In the second Fognini commits fewer errors and wins the partial set with a clear 6-2.
In the third and decisive set the match is again point to point and this time it is the same Fognini who successfully closes in the tie-break 7-6. Daniel thus exits after three straight victories in the qualifiers, the Italian moves on to the third round instead.
