Ducati, first Martin-Bastianini sparks: ‘Me superior’
By August, Ducati will decide which of the two will join Pecco Bagnaia on the official team
In just over a month, Ducati will announce who between Enea Bastianini and Jorge Martin will have a seat in the factory team alongside Pecco Bagnaia next season. After a flying start by the Rimini rider, the Spanish centaur in recent Grands Prix has made up for lost ground: “In the last few races I have been superior to Bastianini in terms of performance,” are the words of Martin reported by Motorsport.
“In the last few races we have gained confidence and I have always finished in the top 7. Since Le Mans we have been going better than Enea, and that is also important. I am still 35 points behind him in the standings, but in terms of performance in the last few races we have been superior, and that is also important for Ducati. Now I have to recover 100% physically, because then there are races like Silverstone or Austria, where we can fight for the victory.”
On the carpal tunnel operation: “Already fully recovered, last Sunday I was able to race without problems taking some painkillers, I hope to fully recover for the second part of the season.”
