Tsitsipas and Kyrgios fined after match of controversy
Wimbledon organizers have decided on sanctions.
Fines for Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgios after the Australian won a controversial match in the third round at Wimbledon. The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club decided that the Greek will have to pay $10,000 for sending a ball into the stands, while Kyrgios will have to pay $4,000 for obscenities uttered on the court.
Controversy in the match also followed off-court, in the press conference, as Tsitsipas called Kyrgios an “evil bully,” and the Australian responded in kind. Kyrgios reacted to the fine by posting a laughing face.
