Binaghi has no more doubts about Sinner and issues challenge to Djokovic
Binaghi has no more doubts about Sinner
President of the Italian Tennis Federation Angelo Binaghi, interviewed by ‘Adnkronos,’ expressed all his satisfaction with what the Italian tennis players showed in the last two editions of Wimbledon.
“Sinner proved one more time what he is made of in terms of character and tennis. On the other side of the net he had a monster, who won again in the end, but I think it won’t turn out that way next time. Twelve months ago Berrettini managed to win against Djokovic the first set of the final, the other day Jannik won two. Next time one of our boys will be able to win three out of five sets and take home the match. Time plays in favor of the Italian boys,” the executive explained.
Then Binaghi wanted to make a prediction about the last Slam of the year: “In these first six months, despite the many injuries, Italian tennis has obtained two slam semifinals with Berrettini at the Australian Open and Trevisan at Roland Garros. There came Matteo’s prestigious victories at Queen’s and Stuttgart again and Sinner’s quarterfinals in Melbourne and at the Championships. If the bad luck turns away from us, we will have a great U.S. Open.”
