F1, Austria: Ferrari ahead in second free practice
Third is Verstappen, who will be on pole in the Sprint
Ferrari is back in front in the second free practice session of the Austrian GP. A special hour at this weekend’s Red Bull Ring between qualifying and the Sprint race.
Best time for Carlos Sainz, winner a few days ago at Silverstone, ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc. Third was poleman Max Verstappen on the Red Bull, who set the time, however, on the medium tire and not the soft.
Alpine did well with Fernando Alonso fourth and Esteban Ocon fifth. Sixth was Sergio Perez in the other Red Bull ahead of George Russell’s Mercedes. Eighth is Valtteri Bottas in an Alfa Romeo, then his former teammate Lewis Hamilton. Lando Norris in the McLaren closes the top 10.
