F1, Helmut Marko honest about Charles Leclerc
43-point lead for Verstappen over Leclerc
Red Bull’s streak of consecutive victories in this World Championship was halted at Silverstone at six. Max Verstappen was able to extend his championship lead, but Helmut Marko knows it wasn’t all about them.
In fact, the Red Bull advisor admitted how unlucky Charles Leclerc has been from Barcelona onward. “To be honest, you have to admit that Leclerc hasn’t gotten the results he deserved in the last five races,” the Austrian told ntv’s Germans. “We’ve been lucky and have monetized what happened, but it won’t always be like that.
Marko, however, does not intend to underestimate what his team has done this year: “In any case, apart from Barcelona, we had a car capable of winning in every grand prix and that gives us confidence.” Verstappen now has a 43-point lead over Leclerc.
