Tour de France, Van Aert show in Lausanne
Belgian cyclist won the eighth stage of the Grande Boucle
Wout Van Aert won the eighth stage of the Tour de France: in Lausanne, the Belgian from Jumbo-Visma triumphed in a sprint ahead of Michael Matthews and yellow jersey Tadej Pogacar.
It was precisely the defending UAE Emirates champion who consolidated his lead in the general classification, which now stands at 40 seconds ahead of Jonas Vingegaard and one minute and 14 seconds ahead of Geraint Thomas. The best of the Italians is Alberto Bettiol, who finished fifth in today’s stage.
