F1, Max Verstappen’s big regret.
He had taken the pole and won the Sprint
After taking pole position and winning the Sprint race, Max Verstappen expected to make en plein in the Austrian GP. Instead, the Red Bull driver was beaten by Charles Leclerc and Ferrari.
This is his comment after the race: “A complicated day. We started to suffer with the tires and this occurred with every compound,” Verstappen explained. “Too much degradation to be able to attack Charles, but it’s a good second place. A positive result on a difficult day.”
Verstappen wanted to give his fans a joy: “To see so many fans here in Austria is beautiful. Unfortunately, I couldn’t give them a win today,” he added, “But second place is a decent result. With Charles we’ve been fighting all year, it’s great to see these battles.”
