Italy ends the preliminary phase of the Volleyball Nations League in first place with a record of 10 wins and 31 points and a better set quotient than Poland. Italy thus wins on the field the first place that it would have obtained anyway by regulation in case it had finished the preliminary phase among the top eight, as the organizing country of the Finals.
The Azzurri will meet on Wednesday, July 20 at 9 p.m. in the Quarterfinals at the Unipol Arena in Bologna the Netherlands, defeated today by Italy itself 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-21) in the last match of week 3 closed with four wins out of four.
The other Quarterfinal pairings, scheduled between Wednesday, July 20 and Thursday, July 21 at the Bologna facility, will see Poland meet Iran, the USA face Brazil and France cross Japan.
