Tour de France, Giulio Ciccone recounts his ordeal
The Trek Segafredo climber is struggling with an intestinal virus that limits him.
Complicated days for Giulio Ciccone at the Tour de France: the cyclist has been struggling for several days with an intestinal virus that is making his first part of the Grande Boucle hell.
This was revealed by the Italian himself on social media: “These are difficult days at the Tour de France. For days now I have been battling a stomach virus that is creating problems in my race. I will spend my rest day in total relaxation to try to recover. Running the Tour in these conditions is difficult, but I don’t want to give up without having tried until the last.”
Ciccone is currently 149th in the standings, more than a quarter of an hour behind leader Pogacar.
