Coulthard dreams of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen at arm’s length
David Coulthard’s words.
Although they are not playing for the World Championship this year in another no-holds-barred duel, the rivalry between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton remains. Even and especially among their fans.
This was pointed out by David Coulthard, after what happened in the last two Grands Prix: “Lewis and Max do not have a bond, while it exists between Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, Lando Norris, George Russell and all the drivers of this generation. Maybe the difference is not that big, but in sports ten or 11 years represent a generation. I would like to see Hamilton and Verstappen arm in arm and talk to the Formula 1 fans, because we heard the booing of Max at Silverstone, and I am not at all happy to see that in our sport. You can support whoever you want, but let’s be fair, let’s do it in a respectful way.”
“We have been made aware that some fans were victims of totally unacceptable comments by others at the Austrian GP. We take these matters very seriously, we have brought them up to the promoters, to the security of the event, and we will talk to those who reported the incidents. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”
