Gianluigi Buffon and farewell to soccer: from Parma’s training camp the strange clue
A new adventure begins, and retirement remains far away.
Gianluigi Buffon is ready for the second season of his second life at Parma. And despite turning 44 years old back in January, the prospect of leaving soccer continues to be a long way off.
“I spent 10 years at Parma, then 20 at Juventus, one at PSG, and went back to Juve for two. I had to close the circle at Parma. I’m in my second year, but I don’t have a hundred,” joked the ducali goalkeeper from the Pejo retreat.
Buffon, between the serious and the facetious, however, gave an early hint about the age he expects to be when the fateful retirement comes: “Will I be 55? More or less. However, I’ve been thinking for many years about the time when I will stop. It’s been about ten, but then I always continue. I just know that I will stay in the world of soccer.”
