Cagliari strengthens its midfield, announcing the signing of Antoine Makoumbou. “A central midfielder, he combines physicality, agility and vision of the game,” are the words with which the club introduces its new player to its fans.
“Cagliari Calcio is pleased to announce the outright purchase from Maribor of the footballer Antoine Makoumbou who has signed a contract until June 30, 2026,” are the details of the deal, as the Rossoblù club wrote in a statement.
“Born in Paris, July 18, 1998, raised in the youth of Monaco, after playing the 2018/19 season in Germany in Mainz, he continued his path of growth in Slovenia: first the experience at Tabor Sezana, then Maribor with which he won the last championship – the note continues -. He took leave of his former team by winning the passage to the second qualifying round of the Champions League. He made his debut on September 21, 2021 with the Congo national team with which he has so far made 10 appearances: last June 8 he scored his first goal against Gambia.”
