Dorothea Wierer, not just the medal: revelation about Beijing
A year full of successes, but also very tiring.
This is the summary of Dorothea Wierer, who at the Grand Gala of the Snows in Madonna di Campiglio returned to her 2022. And in particular on the Beijing Olympics, where she found bronze in the individual sprint race but not only.
“At the end of the season you’re always very tired, because you’re on the road all winter long,” Dorothea Wierer admitted to the microphones of ‘Sky Sport.’ “And even in the summer we have so many retreats with the national team. Then of course with the medal I was really satisfied. Let’s say that the Olympics were very, very heavy, both because of the weather and various somewhat special circumstances. When it came time to start again, though, I still had a desire to put myself out there.”
“I really won a lot, a lot of medals, world cups and podiums. So in the end I’m really satisfied. Then of course every now and then you have to face some bad periods, but that’s part of the game. We athletes face a season full of competitions, and so the bad one can happen. But when you have a medal in your hand you can forget about it, confessed Dorothea Wierer.
