F1, Nico Rosberg puts the brakes on Mick Schumacher
Rosberg gives advice to young compatriot after last positive races in the World Cup
Mick Schumacher has come unstuck in the latest races of the Formula 1 World Championship: after the first points won at Silverstone, the Haas driver in Austria did even better, allowing himself to duel with Lewis Hamilton.
With the criticism gone, there are now many who want the Ferrari Academy driver at a higher stable: however, compatriot Nico Rosberg disagrees, still demanding time for the son of seven-time world champion Michael. “One should not be in a hurry, he has to improve, and the pasts have shown that. It would make sense for him to take his time before aiming for a top team. We also saw this with George Russell, who drove for three years at Williams and then was ready to move to Mercedes,” the former world champion’s words to Eurosport.
“When I open the newspapers these days, I don’t read any criticism of him: one race was enough, a good duel with Verstappen in Britain, it was all forgotten. This is the madness of our sport, but also the beauty for Mick. Psychologically, this has enormous value for him, because now he is finding positive mental energy.”
