New Mater Volleyball confirms Saverio De Santis

New Mater Volley Castellana Grotte confirms, for the 2022/2023 sports season and the upcoming A2 Credem Banca men’s volleyball national series championship, libero Saverio De Santis. Class 1999, 175 cm, born in Locri (Rc), he will complete the department that already registers the presence of Andrea Marchisio.

Arrived in Castellana Grotte in 2019 from Conad Lamezia (A2 series), De Santis will be in his fourth year in the yellow-blue. In Puglia and in the A2 series, he has already played with the jersey of Gioia del Colle, a club that saw him make his debut in the cadet series after experiences in Calabria with Palmi and Cinquefrondi. De Santis chose again the 10, a jersey that accompanied him in the last two seasons, years in which he was often called upon also as a starter.

“I’m staying in Castellana another year, by now I feel it as a second home,” commented De Santis himself. “I can’t wait to meet again the friends, the fans, the teammates from last season and to get to know the new ones. I will try to convey to them what it means to play for this club and with this jersey. I am so happy to continue for one of the best teams in the South. It is an honor for me for the fourth year in a row to be part of this team. The fans are amazing, every home game is like a party. For next season we will try in every way with daily hard work to improve on last year’s results, hoping to give joy, fun and results to the city.”
