Burnell in Brindisi

Happy Casa Brindisi has announced that it has finalized a valid agreement for the next sports season with American athlete Jason Burnell, born on 15/08/1997 in Florida.

A well-known face in the Italian league, he made his Serie A debut in the 2019/20 season with Cantù at over 11 points and 5 rebounds average. The move to Sassari allowed him to play in the LBA-Champions League double competition, confirming his first year in Italy with 12.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists and in Europe as the fifth best rebounder (6.9) in the competition. Decisive was his contribution in the playoffs last year, always in double figures in the series won against Brescia averaging 15 points and 5 rebounds in four games.

Last season, Olimpia Milano returned to win the scudetto, snatching it from Virtus Segafredo Bologna. The Biancorossi, who had finished second right behind Sergio Scariolo’s team in the regular season, immediately brought the court factor to their side in the final series and never let the Felsinians catch them again. In the Euroleague, Sergio Rodriguez and his teammates were eliminated by Ergin Ataman’s Anadolu Efes, who would win the tournament for the second year in a row.
