Toto Wolff has not yet digested the last season finale.

“It can happen that someone wins not in the right way,” the 50-year-old explained to Squaremile, “but this will not last long, also because karma exists. I am not referring to one race or one season, but also in 10 or 20 years. The mentality of triumphing at all costs is something I would have supported a couple of years ago. Today I still want to win, but I want to do it the right way. I have values and a mentality that I want to uphold in the team. I believe in humility, honesty, integrity and transparency. These are important ingredients in the long run.”

Chapter Lewis Hamilton: “I have to protect him because people have started criticizing him, which is not right. It’s nonsense: he’s the greatest driver of all time, but the car is just not up to par. George sometimes struggled a little less because maybe he is used to driving difficult cars at the bottom of the grid, but Lewis was unlucky on many occasions. He could have won two more podiums and the pendulum would have swung. So, the excuses are to make everyone understand that the car is not performing, and not that the driver is to blame. I think he should have won the eighth world title last year, everyone knows that, but now we have to create a car that puts him in a position to win the world championship, and that is basically my responsibility.”
