Michael Schumacher, wife Corinna in tears
Michael Schumacher Award
North Rhine-Westphalia, Michael Schumacher’s home region, decided to honor the seven-time world champion because “he is a person with a big heart and because he always thought of others.”
The award presentation was staged at Motorworld in Cologne, and on stage was his wife Corinna, who could not hold back tears.
Speaking in her place was Jean Todt: “I don’t miss Michael, because I see him often. Of course, I miss what we used to do together. It’s true, we watch races together. He always thought about those who are not well by activating himself with very generous donations. He has a wonderful family, his wife is one of the strongest women I know. Schumacher has shaped Formula 1 like no one else has done before or after him.”
Corinna, moved, merely nodded, without adding more about her husband’s condition.
