ADL also confirms Belgian’s farewell

There is no common ground between Dries Mertens and Napoli, and the Belgian striker will leave the Neapolitan capital for good. Making the announcement is the president of Napoli himself, Aurelio De Laurentiis, at the microphones of ‘Kiss Kiss Napoli’.

“Mertens will not stay in Naples, Kim is close and Simeone is a player of interest,” said De Laurentiis, who in a few words took stock of the current Azzurri market. Mertens, who turned 35 last May 6, is currently without a contract after nine seasons in the shadow of Vesuvius. Already in recent weeks the farewell seemed highly likely, but now it practically acquires the trappings of officiality.

De Laurentiis, in the interview, also spoke about the new season and in particular the upcoming season ticket campaign: “The season ticket campaign will be launched in the coming days with popular prices and special discounts for families,” he said. “Napoli’s goal will be to entertain the fans.
