Ganna, fifth, is the first of the Italians in the last time trial of the Tour 2022

Double triumph for Jumbo-Visma on Saturday at the Tour de France: Wout van Aert, in fact, won the time trial starting from Lacapelle-Marival and finishing in Rocamadour, while his teammate and captain, Jonas Vingegaard, thanks to today’s second place has definitely put his hands on the 2022 edition of the Grande Boucle, which will end on Sunday with the classic final catwalk on the Champs Elysees.

Van Aert completed the 40.7-kilometer test against the clock in 47 minutes 59 seconds, 19″ better than the next Tour winner. Third, 27″ behind the Belgian, was Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates), who will therefore have to settle for second place overall after two consecutive Tour wins.

Brilliant performance by the veteran of a thousand battles Geraint Thomas, able to finish fourth at 32″, while his teammate at Ineos Grenadiers, Italian Filippo Ganna, finished fifth at 42″: an all in all good result given the great effort made by the Verbanese rider on the roads of the Tour in these three weeks.
