F1, another Ferrari disaster: Charles Leclerc retires from first
Another painful withdrawal for Ferrari.
Charles Leclerc reaps another tremendous disappointment at the French Grand Prix. Once again the Monegasque was forced to retire, once again while leading the race. This time the farewell to the race came on lap 17, just as Ferrari was preparing for the tire change. And the driver’s scream clearly expresses all his anger and frustration.
In his hot reaction, in fact, Charles Leclerc complained of a problem with the accelerator, which in his opinion was once again left running despite the fact that the driver was not using it. This contributed to the accident, with the Ferrari losing the rear going into the barriers.
After four Safety Car laps, the race resumed with Max Verstappen in the lead, ahead of Lewis Hamilton, Sergio Perez and George Russell. Carlos Sainz, making a comeback, was in eighth position.
