The Catalan, Sky Sport’s second voice, expressed all his disappointment at yet another misadventure for the Monegasque when commenting on the episode that ousted the Ferrarista from the French Grand Prix and dealt another blow to his hopes of winning the world championship.
Gené’s exclamation, not exactly a Frenchism (five letters, word beginning with ‘m’ and ending with ‘a’: it’s not ‘mint’), was picked up by many fine-eared viewers.
Max Verstappen, defending champion and winner at Paul Ricard, now has a 63-point lead in the standings over Leclerc.
