F1, Hungary first free practice: Ferrari immediately ahead
First and third place for Ferrari
The weekend of the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix opened in the sign of Ferrari. In fact, Carlos Sainz was the fastest in the first free practice session with a time of 1’18″750.
Behind the Spaniard the two protagonists of the World Championship: second was Max Verstappen with the Red Bull at one tenth, third Charles Leclerc with the other Ferrari at almost three tenths. Good signs from McLaren with Lando Norris’ fourth time ahead of George Russell’s Mercedes.
More in trouble was Sergio Perez, sixth in the other Red Bull, followed by Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes. Eighth was Daniel Ricciardo in a McLaren and closing the top ten were the two Alpine cars of Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso.
