F1, Lewis Hamilton is testy: “We have a lot of work to do.”
The other Mercedes, George Russell’s, also did not shine on the Hungarian track.
In a free practice session that saw the domination of Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari and the surprising performance of the two McLarens of Norris and Ricciardo, Lewis Hamilton, fresh from his second place in the last GP in France, chewed bitterly. In fact, his Mercedes finished 11th, lagging more than a second behind the Monegasque’s Red.
At the end of the afternoon of free practice at the Hungaroring, the British driver was very clear about the difficulties experienced on the track: “We have not changed anything compared to last week, there is also the same driver,” the champion began with a thread of sarcasm. “On this track our car does not work. If we get the setup right, the gap will be the same as in France, which is about a second. I had bottom damage at the beginning of the session and lost a lot of downforce. It will be a tough weekend, that’s for sure. But we will give everything, we have a lot of work to do,” he concluded.
