F1, the incredible sensation of George Russell

George Russell will never forget this day. Indeed, in Budapest, the British Mercedes driver achieved the first pole position of his career, mocking the Ferraris of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.

These are his words after qualifying: “I feel a really incredible feeling. Yesterday’s was perhaps the worst Friday of our season. We didn’t even know which direction to go,” Russell said. “Then the weather kept improving, I crossed the finish line and saw from the screen that I was first. An incredible feeling.”

“I don’t know if the Mercedes is back. We have to figure out where we got this time from. We have some ideas but I don’t know why we were so strong in qualifying. In theory we were better on the race pace,” added a surprised Russell. “Ferrari was very strong on Friday and tomorrow we will have to attack. But today is a special day.”
