The last challenge smiled on the South Tyrolean
Everything is ready, in Umag, for the final between Sinner and Alcaraz, respectively No. 2 and No. 1 seed in the tournament. For the Italian it will be the first final in 2022, for the Spaniard the sixth (he has won them all except the one played in Hamburg against Musetti).
Statistics in hand, it will be the third challenge between the two Next Generation talents. The first duel, at the 2021 Bercy Masters 1000 in Bercy, saw the Spaniard succeed but, in the round of 16 of the last edition of Wimbledon, it was the Italian who prevailed in four sets. Interestingly, the final at the Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag will be the first final on clay for Sinner.
