Adriano Panatta makes confession about Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz
Panatta: “He may be a dinosaur, but the tennis of Sinner and Alcaraz I just don’t like…”
Adriano Panatta in an interview with Corriere dello Sport made a confession about Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz: “Sinner has to learn to soften the ball, but he has time ahead of him. However, when I see him playing like he did on Sunday against Alcaraz, two guys shooting at two hundred and fifty hours from the back of the court, it’s a type of game that’s not for me, but I’m old.”
“It’s not that I don’t like Sinner, on the contrary. He is someone who has a first-rate head, he stands there even if he loses. He has the attributes. It’s the kind of game I don’t like, it doesn’t excite me, they play at crazy speed, it takes away the imagination, you don’t have time to think, it’s a faster, more violent game, less refined, maybe that’s the refinement and I have a different concept. I’m a dinosaur….”
The former Italian tennis player also talked about Musetti and Berrettini: “Lorenzo has more solutions, he has a good hand. As Fognini still has it. Berrettini is classic, indeed classic-modern, serve-straight: he hurts when he shoots.”
