To Modena the derby of the province, Cremonese and Bologna do not betray.

Monday’s Coppa Italia reaps another excellent victim: it is Sassuolo, defeated 3-2 by Modena in the derby of the Emilian province. Same score for Genoa fresh from relegation, which advances the round by eliminating Benevento, and for Cremonese over Ternana. A 1-0 win for Bologna was enough to eliminate Cosenza on the night of Sinisa Mihajlovic’s return to the bench.

It was Sansone who solved in the 64th minute a complicated match for the Felsinei, with a personal solo that earned the passage of the round and a new all-Redblood challenge against Cagliari. Some scary moments also for Cremonese, ahead by two goals (Bogdan’s own goal and Okereke’s double) and then reached by Rovaglia and Palumbo before Quagliata’s decisive tris.

Badly, on the other hand, Sassuolo, whose two goals at the end of the two halves (Berardi’s penalty and Ayhan’s goal) were not enough to get the better of Modena: Falcinelli’s goal and Mosti’s double gave the capital team the passage of the round. Blessin’s Genoa also did well, scoring twice through Gudmundsson before Coda’s penalty: completing the 3-2 win were Benevento’s two goals, by Glik and Karic.
